Child Protection Awareness

Overview

This training is aimed at all staff who are responsible for children in either a residential or
community setting. It gives delegates an enhanced insight into child protection issues and
helps them develop an understanding of the factors associated with safeguarding children.
Delegates will gain the vital knowledge and skills they need to manage a range of child
protection situations, identifying types of abuse and reporting and recording it
appropriately.

● How to identify when a child is being abused.
● Duty of care.
● Whistleblowing.
● Child protection agencies.
● Case studies.
● Record keeping and effective reporting.

 Assessment  

Child protection awareness training takes around 3 hours and delegates may be expected to
engage in several group activities. Our experienced trainers will be on hand to help guide
participants through these sessions and a certificate will be awarded upon completion.
